Caron Simply Soft cowls & shawl

I have been busy, busy crocheting. Apparently I'm in a fiber mood again. Paper what??? ;D

This is a lovely light and soft cowl I found the pattern for here, I used her pattern for the shorter cowl. I really love this. It's made from Caron Simply Soft in Springbook. 1 skein made this perfect lightweight cowl.

Here is a close up of how the yarn works up in this stitch. So pretty with its variegation and sheen.

This is the same pattern and yarn in the color Sunset. It is lovely cranberry's and maroons and even a touch of brown.

And something new for me. A shawl. I have it wrapped around my neck and the ends are tucked under, around the front of my neck, but it is wide enough to wear around my shoulders down my back also. This pattern actually has a lot of stretch and a lovely drape whether wearing it towards your chest or your back. It's light and soft also.

Here is a close up of the color, which is Passion and the stitch. This was something new and different for me, but I definitely like it. I changed up her wonderful pattern only in using this chainless starting double crochet stitch at each new row and I opted for no fringe on this one, but I might like a lil fringe for a dressy one. Hmm, that might be next.
